What is a vampire facial?

A vampire facial is a combination of micro-needling and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) from your own blood. It provides growth factors to the skin and collagen induction, reducing scars, fine lines, sun damage and pores and improving skin texture.

Chemical peels can help to improve the appearance of the skin. A chemical solution is administered to the skin in this procedure, causing it to "blister" and finally peel off. In most cases, the new skin is smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. The vampire facial is a minimally invasive procedure for achieving younger, brighter skin.

What does the procedure involve?

After a small tube of blood is drawn, it goes through a special process to remove the red cells. This is then infused into your skin through micro-needling and injections. The positive effects last from 3 months up to a year but can be repeated monthly.

A topical numbing cream is administered to the face before the micro-needling portion of the treatment begins to alleviate any discomfort caused by the needling. The PRP is massaged on the skin once the numbing lotion has worn off and the micro-needling has been done. To get the best benefits, leave the PRP on your skin for the rest of the day. Patients will have dry, red, sensitive skin similar to a light sunburn for the first few days after treatment.

How long does recovery take?

Because the PRP is coming out of your blood, there are no real side effects from the product. Expected redness, discomfort or sensitivity post-procedure is normal.

Who is a candidate?

Micro-needling with PRP is suitable for almost everyone. Those with wrinkles and fine lines, significant levels of sun damage, or uneven skin tones may benefit from this therapy. If you have a history of blood diseases, such as clotting or bleeding issues, you may not be a candidate.
